Voted against increased funding for the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), which would have given healthcare coverage to impoverished children.

Then, two months later Kirk decided to change his vote on SCHIP after pressure from his constituents.

Made Medicare more complicated and expensive by voting for and supporting Medicare Part D, then voting against allowing the government to negotiate prices with the drug companies.

Kirk then missed a vote that would have allowed drug price negotiation.

Voted against reimportating cheaper prescription drugs from Canada.

Kirk voted for similar legislation three months later. He also voted for similar legislation two years earlier.

 

 

Misrepresented the number of uninsured in the country, saying that illegal immigrants make up almost a third of the reported 47 million without health care.
