Supports the President
Claims he's a moderate

Bush's closest supporters
Mark Kirk likes to call
himself a moderate
Mark Kirk was elected on the promise he would provide the type of independent leadership the 10th District has long valued.
The reality is that Mark Kirk has consistently sided with the Bush administration in Congress, voting with President Bush in support of an open-ended war in Iraq, fiscally irresponsible budgets that have weakened our economy, and promoting the interests of the big oil companies over lowering the price of gas and reducing our nation's dependence on foreign oil.
Since he was elected to Congress in 2000, Mark Kirk has talked a lot about how he is a "moderate."
Kirk's voting record, siding with the Republicans in Congress over 88% of the time, and statements, including criticizing Dan Seals for supporting the "Obama Agenda," show that he represents more of the same type of politics put forth by the Bush administration over the past 8 years.
